OIL MANAGEMENT
TRAXOIL ELECTRONIC OIL LEVEL CONTROLS
TraxOil products are approved by the major compressor manufacturers.
How the TR3 Operates
The TR3 is mounted in place of the oil level sight glass at the compressor's crankcase. A mechanical level detector (float and hall sensor) monitors the oil level and transmits information to the control logic.
The integrated solenoid valve feeds oil directly into the compressor sump when compressor oil level is low. If the correct oil level cannot be reached and goes into the red zone area (see diagram below), the TR3 emits an alarm signal. The alarm contacts can be used to shut down the compressor.
NOTE: The TR3 Series replaces the TOUS Series. TOUS adaptor plates are not interchangeable.
NOTE: An A-7 or Y1236C valve is not required with a TraxOil Electronic OLC.

Directions:
Connect N30 cable to relay connection, maximum 3A/240VAC, according to diagram above.
Blue wire: open in alarm.
Black wire: common
Brown wire: closed in alarm
- Do not switch compressor directly. Use the compressor's power relay instead.
- Connect P30 cable to 24VAC, 50/60Hz, 0.7A, see diagram above.
- Plugs at TraxOil units do not require addition gaskets.
Do not switch Traxoil unit off and on with the compressor. Ensure that the secondary side of the 24 Volt supply transformer to the TraxOil unit is fused with the correct size fuse. Please consult your electrician or system designer as fure sizes may vary at each installation. (Max of 5A) Allow 20VA per TraxOil unit with a maximum of three units per transformer. It is recommended that one side of the 24 Volt circuit be grounded. All electrical writing is to be carried out in accordance with AS3000 or equivalent standard in country of installation.
* Failure to comply with these instructions will void the warranty. Caution: for correct operation, maintain continuous power to the TraxOil unit at all times.
Operation
The sight glass is divided into three main zones. When the level reaches the yellow zone (2) the TR3 starts filling after a time delay of 10 seconds. When the level drops to the red zone (3) the control will switch the alarm relay contacts on after a time delay of 20 seconds. The current oil status is indicated by the three LED's according to the following table:
